However we wish to describe science, our goal is to give our students an understanding and appreciation of the truly wondrous world around us, and to prepare them to become the scientists of the next generation. They will make the discoveries that help us live longer, healthier, more comfortable lives. They will show their children worlds we will never get to see. They will make discoveries about our planet, our solar system, and our universe, that will amaze and delight us.
We must prepare them for that role.
